The Bangladesh-Ireland Tri-Nations series ODI match has been abandoned due to persistent rain in The Village ground, Malahide, Dublin yesterday. The match was due to begin at 10.45am (Ireland time) but wet weather intervened, forcing repeated delays. Eventually, the decision was taken shortly after 2.00pm to abandon the fixture.
Both teams shared the points as a result of the cancellation, with Ireland set to take on the West Indies in Malahide in the next match on Saturday.
Bangladesh climbed to the top of the points table with six points, while West Indies followed them with five points. On the other hand Ireland managed to open their accounts by virtue of cancelling Thursday’s match.
