A Dhaka court yesterday set May 23 for the next hearing in case filed against BNP leader Barrister Moudud Ahmed for amassing illegal wealth and concealing statement about his assets.
Judge Dr Sheikh Golam Mahbub of Dhaka special judge court-6 set the date, allowing a time plea filed for the former law minister. The defence filed the plea, saying Barrister Moudud is unwell and could not appear before the court. Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on September 16, 2007, filed the case with Gulshan Police Station for amassing illegal wealth of Tk 7.38 crore and concealing statement about wealth of Tk 4.40 crore.
The ACC on May 14, 2008, submitted charge sheet against Moudud in the case and the court on June 21, 2017, framed charges against him.
