Jewellery shop looted in Chandpur

A gang of robbers looted gold ornaments and cash worth about Taka 20 lakh from a jewellery shop at Beltoli Bazar in Matlab Uttar upazila of the district early yesterday morning, reports BSS from Chandpur. Officer in-charge (OC) of Matlab Uttar Thana Kabir Hossain, quoting witnesses, said the robbers came to Beltoli Bazar at about 3am and looted the shop. The gang looted the shop owned by Nimai Ghosh after tying up the night guards of the Bazar.
Police have launched a drive to arrest the robbers, the OC added.
