Five Jamaat, Shibir activists arrested

Police in a drive arrested five activists of Jamaat-Shibir from South Rajarampur village under Senbag upazila of the district yesterday morning, reports BSS from Noakhali. The arrested were M Masud, 28, M Enayet, 30, M Jahirul Islam, 28, M Saiful Islam, 30, and M Abul Bashar, 28. All of them are residents of the same upazila. Officer-in-charge of Senbag Thana Abdur Razzak said police arrested them while they were holding a meeting at a house in the village at about 2 am. They were accused of several cases of violence, vandalism, arson attack and militant activities, the OC added.
