The taskforce of Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC) yesterday detected two more massive electricity pilferages in a special drive in Lalbag area of the capital, says a press release. The taskforce in a drive found that electricity had been pilfered by two industries named Eastern Progressive Industries and Asia Plastic Container since long. The taskforce also have fined around Taka 22 lakh to Md Azad and Ilias Hosen, the owners of the industries respectively. It has also shut down the two industries detaching their electricity connectivity. Muhammad Munir Chowdhuri, head of special taskforce said, special drives have been going on to evade stealing electricity and revenue. DPDC also have owned Tk 1.11 crore to Jalkuri Textile in Narayangonj. We are trying to apprehend its general manager and also to collect money crocking his industrial properties.
