A Chittagong court yesterday placed Minhazul Islam Sajil 24, an alleged organiser of banned militant outfit JMB (Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh) of Chittagong unit, on three-day remand in a case lodged over triple murder in Fisherighat area under Sadarghat police station on September 23. Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Abdul Quader passed the order after DB (Detective Branch) of Police appeared before seeking a 10-day remand from Minhazul Islam. “We sought 10-day remand for quizzing Sajil. The court granted three-day remand”, said Babul Akhter, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of the Detective Branch (DB) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP). Earlier, acting on a tip-off, a team of DB of CMP arrested Minhazul from Nagarpur area of Tangail on early Friday.
