Every hungry Dhaka resident has at least once undergone the turmoil of having to wait hours at traffic jams hours before he can savour the taste of food at his favourite restaurant.
Be if after tiring work shifts or hectic class schedules, the thought of having to come home and dressing up just to have dinner at the popular food joints can be unappealing! However, for all you foodies craving the juicy burger right after a long day, or missing out on spicy Indian delicacies the wait is no more, HungryNaki.com an e-commerce website delivers food from the restaurants directly to your doorstep.
Numerous options of delicious food are all just a click away. The COO and co-founder of HungryNaki.com Tawsif Ahmad had just one goal ‘To provide people with food from their favourite restaurants without having to fight through traffic, bad weather or wait in queue.’ According to him the idea for delivering food to people didn’t arise overnight. With some experience at another e-commerce company, he began to explore the prospect of
e-commerce in Bangladesh. Around May-June of 2013 Tawsif came up with this idea and thus HungryNaki was born. HungryNaki was officially launched on October 1, 2013.
Based on Tawsif’s research there were here were several other prospects, such as fashion, electronics, accessories, etc. that were taken into consideration. However the market was already booming with such companies and he wanted to come up with something different, and Dhaka being filled with foodies, ‘food delivery’ seemed like the perfect service which lead to HungryNaki. The groundwork not only took the busy and tired ones into consideration, but also to cater to the needs of people who were very comfortable with not leaving their abodes.
HungryNaki began with only 30 partner restaurants, however, in no time other restaurants picked up the trend and currently they are delivered from over 200 food joints. With more than 25 delivery men strategically placed in different locations so that they can reach their desired destination as quickly as possible, you can receive order at 4 different zones in Dhaka Gulshan-Banani-DOHS, Bashundhara-Nikunjo, Uttara and Dhanmondi-Mohammadpur.
The only disappointment the company couldn’t overcome yet, would be that food cannot be delivered from one zone to the other, which means if you reside in Dhanmmondi, you cannot get food from a restaurant in Gulshan. Given the current traffic situation, it is quite understandable that this is not yet quite feasible. HungryNaki’s target customers comprises of young corporate crowds and students. Over 100 deliveries are made each day and the numbers keep rising.
A simple click on their website gives you access to numerous restaurants in your zone. Once you log on to the website HungryNaki.com, select your area and select your preferred restaurant Proceed to place your order and checkout your order. You also have the option of either cash on delivery or online payment. The maximum required time for a delivery is 60 minutes, and the charge is only TK 75.
