The national players who played the recently concluded Dhaka Premier League (DPL) were given two days rest to keep them freshen up as they would have to gear up for a grueling international cricket which includes a tri-nation series in Ireland and ICC Cricket World Cup.
The players will back in action on Sunday to have a two-day practice before leaving the country for Ireland on May 1. Hosts Ireland and West Indies are the two opponents of Bangladesh in tri-nation tournament, which is considered a good build-up tournament for the World Cup.
“First of all, we have reduced the numbers in the early part of the camp. A lot of the guys have been playing in the DPL, a tough competition in searing heat. They need a little break. I would have loved to do a lot of skill work with them,” Bangladesh head coach Steve Rhodes said.
