Aphatsala and Pe scored a couple of goals each as Laos trounced Mongolia by 5-0 in the Bangamata Under-19 International Gold Cup football tournament yesterday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
It all started pretty positively for Laos when they led the first half by 3-0 to take the match beyond Mongolians reach. It was the fourth match of the tournament and looked among all six teams Laos are the most organised and disciplined team when they just kept Mongolia under pressure in the whole 90 minutes times.
Pe, who struck twice has sharp positional sense and was speedy, ran faster than her markers receiving a long ball before entered into the box and left behind the defenders before make finished well to lead the team (1-0).
Captain Aphatsala opened her account on 13th minute taking the advantage of defense lapse and pushed the ball into near post when Mongolian goalkeeper and a defender were confused who will clear the ball (2-0).
Aphatsala doubled her tally on 31st minute, it was also a slip-up of Mongolian defense and Aphatsala was very sharp-witted to send the ball into net (3-0).
Laos played with same fashion in the second half controlling the possession almost one-sidedly and Pe scored her second and fourth for the team on 50th minute when she dribbled past two defenders and powered a right footer into the far post (4-0).
Solongo, the substitute midfielder joined the celebration scoring a brilliant goal when her long range free kick went into the top corner of the far post on 75th minute (5-0).
