Man tries to commit suicide after killing wife

Police here on Thursday arrested a man as he tried to commit suicide after strangulating his wife to death over family feud at Assasuni Upazila in the district.

The deceased was identified as Sahida Khatun, 18, wife of Kashem Molla.

The man has been taking treatment at Upazila Health Complex under police custody.

Officer-in-charge of Assasuni Police Station Biplob Kumar Nath said Biplob Kumar Nath said Kashem strangulated his wife to death and drank poison to commit suicide.

The body was sent to Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
