Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) yesterday seized 200 gold bars weighing about 23.50 kg from a toilet of Biman Bangladesh Airlines BG-128 came from Abu Dhabi at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram. CIID detained a technician and cleaner of the fight for the interrogation. However, their named could not disclose immediately. The CIID Deputy Director Md Marufur Rahman said that being informed they seized the gold bars from the flight toilet after its landing at airport 8:05am. “The gold was found in the basket which is used as dustbin of the toilet. The worth of the gold bars is over Tk10 crore. There might be a gang of gold smugglers are involved with the haul,” he added.
