2 DU students beaten by ‘BSMMU staff’

Two Dhaka University (DU) students yesterday were assaulted and beaten up yesterday allegedly by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical University (BSMMU) staff over trivial matter. The two students were identified as Abir Mohammad and Joba yeasmin, both are studying at physiology department and also residents at Sir AF Rahman Hall and Seikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall respectively. Joba yeasmin claimed that, she went to BSMMU  for her several medical tests, she was onwards the serial but hospital’s staff gave chance another people for treatment breaking the serial after taking money illegally, that’s why  she can’t able to take her  medical test. "I placed a written complaint to chairman of Radiology and imaging department informing the matter. The chairman told me to present proper evidence and video of taking money illegally.

Following the instruction, I along with my friend were taking video of irregularities at that time hospital’s staff beat us up repeatedly and snatched our mobile phones." Joba Yeasmin claimed.

Director of BSMMU Brigadier General AKM Mahbubul Haque assured them that he will take necessary action against the assaulters.
