State Minister for Infor-mation and Communication Techno-logy Junaid Ahmed Palak said government will consider declaring the Walton Hi-Tech Industries (WHIL) as a private Hi-Tech Park in line with the rules and regulations of government’s Hi-Tech Park guidelines.
He also assured of providing all the privileges of Hi-Tech Park to the WHIL.
Palak made the assurance while briefing journalists after visiting different production units of the Walton Hi-Tech Industries at Chandra in Gazipur yesterday. The state minister also inaugurated the Walton’s E-commerce site.
Walton Group’s Directors SM Rezaul Alam Shamim and Manzurul Alam Ovi, Executive Director Abul Bashar Hawlader and other high officials of the company were present.
Junaid Ahmed Palak said, “Walton has turned into our national proud. The local company has achieved tremendous popularity at home and abroad by manufacturing world-class consumer based electronics products.”
“Making investment in the country’s ICT sector, Walton has set an example for our youth people and its successful stories would be followed by other entrepreneurs of this sector,” he added.
He also assured of providing all kinds of government cooperation to Walton for moving ahead further.
Dwelling on the opening of E-commerce site, Walton Senior Additional Director (IT) Ariful Ambia said the site was opened so that the buyers can easily purchase Walton brand’s products through online without going to the company’s outlets.
