Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Atiur Rahman yesterday said the central bank is on course of digital financial inclusion for ensuring sustainable development across the country, reports UNB.
“We’re going to the digital financial inclusion initiatives aiming to bring more people into the financial system using latest technologies,” he said while addressing a reception organised to celebrate his winning the Central Bank Governor of the Year for Asia 2015 Award.
The BB officials organised the programme at the central bank headquarters in the city.
The Emerging Markets Newspaper, a London-based financial information provider, announced the award on October 10 in recognition of his role in promoting socially responsible financing, financing inclusiveness and green funding.
