Retired cop held for �rape�

Police arrested a retired cop on charge of raping a child on Wednesday. He is identified as Hasan Ali Mondol a retired police constable of  Boli Palima villageunder Kalihati upazila. Officer-in-charge of Klaihati police station Saiful Islam said the child, a nursery level student, was returning home from school on Tuesday. The cop raped the child after he lured her into his room. The child screamed following the sexual assault and the matter became public. Arbitration was arranged on Wednesday to deal with the matter. Hasan Ali Mondol confessed his guilt before the arbitration. The father of the child lodged a case with Kalihati police station. Police arrested Hasan and sent him to jail hajat through a court order yesterday.
