The UK government has invited applicants from Bangladeshi individuals for the Chevening-Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) fellowship, reports UNB. Applications for this award are currently open and will close on November 3, 2015. Applications must be submitted through the online application system at <http:// www.chevening.org/apply/>. The fellowship is collaboration between the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office and OCIS, offering financial support to individuals to undertake a period of independent study and research at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, according to British High Commission in Dhaka. This programme is aimed at mid-career professionals who are dedicated to the promotion of academic activities which encourage a more informed understanding of the culture and civilisation of Islam and contemporary Muslim societies. Chevening provides a unique opportunity for future leaders, influencers, and decision-makers from allover the world to develop professionally and academically, network extensively, experience UK culture, and build lasting positive relationships with the UK.
