This year’s theme of the day, observed worldwide on Oct 10, was “Dignity in mental health.” One in every five person suffers from mental health issues, which covers a broad range of disorders that affect a person’s personality, thought process or social interactions. Affected people are often subjected to discrimination and mockery due to society’s ignorance. The day aims to reduce stigma towards mental illness and encourage sufferers to seek help.
