Hasan Hafiz steps into 61 today

Noted poet Hasan Hafiz steps into 61 today. On this day in 1955, he was born at village Elahinagar in Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj district.
Hasan Hafiz has authored and edited a total of 130 books, including 45 poetry books (one published from Kolkata). His poems were translated in English, French, Hindi, Urdu, Persian and Arabic. In recognition of his contribution to literature and journalism, he was honoured with many awards. Among them are Sreegyan Autish Dipankar Gold Medal, DUCSU Sahitya Puraskar, Agrani Bank Shishusahitya Puraskar, Souharda Kabita Utsab Sammanana of Kolkata, Jatiya Press Club Lekhok Sammanana and Dhaka Reporters Unity Lekhok Sammanana.
He is the General Secretary of UN recognized organisation Bangladesh Paribesh Sangbadik Forum (FEJB) and life member of Bangla Academy. Little magazine ‘Daag’ (Edited by poet Mizanur Rahman Belal) will publish a special issue on Hasan Hafiz.
