Section 144 imposed in Pabna

Pabna: The local administration has slapped section 144 in Bera upazila as two groups of local Awami League called separate meetings at the same venue at the same time, reports UNB.
The restriction will remain in force till 12am yesterday.
Local people said two groups of Awami League -- one led by former State Minister for Home Shamsul Haque Tuku and the other by former State Minister for Information Abu Sayeed -- called meetings at Payna School ground in the upazila at 3 pm ahead of upcoming Bera municipality polls.
Apprehending clash, Bera UNO Mizanur Rahman imposed the ban yesterday.
