Fisherman dies in Meghna trawler capsize

A fisherman died as a fishing trawler capsized in the Meghna River at Dangarchar in Hatiya upazila of the district early yesterday.
The deceased was identified as M Kamal Uddin, 25, a resident of Purba Char Majid village under Subarnachar upazila.
Officer-in-charge of Hatiya police station Nurul Huda quoting local people said the trawler carrying about 16 fishermen sank in the river at around 4am due to strong current.
Others fishermen of the boat managed to swim ashore while Kamal went missing.
Later, local people recovered the body from the river at about 10 am.
