Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy has chalked out two year-long programmes marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to be observed next year. “A programme titled ‘Art move marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu’ was launched in 2017. We submitted 22 programmes to the Cultural Affairs Ministry in this regard. Fifteen programmes are now being implemented,” Director General of Shilpakala Academy Liaquat Ali Lucky told BSS.
The programmes will continue throughout 2020 while some programmes will begin from January 2020 at district and upazila levels, he said. The gala programmes include photo exhibition, staging dramas on Bangabandhu, book reading, art camps, making dramas on Bangabandhu for children, youths and adults, five short films on Bangabandhu and five documentaries, two dance dramas and two Jatra Palas (traditional stage
drama), releasing album with pictures on Bangabandhu and constructing sculpture of Bangabandhu.
The programmes also include making choreography on 100 poems and songs written on Bangabandhu, publishing 10 research books, making 100 performance arts, releasing several CDs and organizing ‘Bangabandhu Festival’ at 64 districts.
As per the programmes, Shilpakala Academy’s district offices are staging 64 dramas on Bangabandhu across the country. Five art camps on painting Bangabandhu’s picture were organized and several exhibitions were held with the pictures.
Book reading programme of reading more than 200 books on Bangabandhu has been launched at district offices across the country.
The drama ‘Mujib Mane Mukti’ has been staged for more than 100 times. l
