The former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee in a letter to the foreign minister AK Abdul Momen mentioned that Bangladesh government and its people are the genuine friends of India.
“It was my fortune that I established a profound relationship with Bangladesh at different levels since the Liberation War and it was my attempts to carry the relations to deeper level. Bangladesh government, its people are the genuine friend, associate and well-wisher of Indian,” a press release of foreign ministry said quoting the lines from the letter sent by Pranab Mukherjee.
Former Indian President also congratulated Dr Momen for his appointment as foreign minister. He said, it undoubtedly reflects his qualification, sincerity and efficiency.
Mukherjee also mentioned that he had the opportunity to work with former finance minister AMA Muhith during his tenure.
The former Indian President also expressed his hearty wishes to foreign minister Dr Momen and the people of Bangladesh.
