An alleged robber was killed in a lynch-mob attack at Bankuri village in Singra upazila of Natore early yesterday, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Rezzak.
Additional Superintendent of Police Munsi Sahab Uddin said a gang of robbers stormed the house of Saheb Ali at the village at about 1am.
The robbers looted valuables after taking the house inmates hostage at gunpoint.
Hearing hue and cry, locals rushed in and caught Rezzak when the gang was making away with the booty.
Later, the mob gave Rezzak a good beating, leaving him dead on the spot.
However, the other hoodlums managed to flee the spot.
Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Natore Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
