The six nations women’s international football tournament, first ever will be organised by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) will be held from April 22 to May-3 in Dhaka.
Bangladesh women’s national team, who have returned from Nepal after just completing their SAFF Women’s Championship assignment, most of the players of the team were the Under-19 team, had a weeklong rest, though they had their gym works regularly with the instruction coach Golam Rabbani Choton.
Golam Rabbani Choton, head coach of the team when talking to this correspondent yesterday said, “After returning to home, I gave them some instruction to follow strictly for maintaining their fitness, as I told them to continue stressing, running and gym works according to routine.”
Choton replying to a query said that they will do their practice at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, the venue of the tournament and one session will be held at the turf pitch.
Though due to the shortage of enough senior players, Bangladesh women’s national team failed to earn their expecting results in the international tournaments, the age group teams regularly bring some success. So, as the Bangamata International tournament will be organised for the Under-19 teams and Bangladesh can expect a good result.
Bangladesh who will get UAE and Kyrgyzstan in their group, have good memories of their previous meeting when the Under-16 team of Bangladesh defeating their UAE counterpart by 6-0 in the AFC age group qualification competition in 2016 and in 2018 by 7-0, while they also defeated Kyrgyzstan by 10-0 in the same competition of AFC in 2016.
