10,224 to vie for 875 KUET seats this year
KHULNA: The online admission process for the first year BSC-Engineering and Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning (BURP) courses in Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) under 2015-16 academic year ended on Tuesday. A total of 10,224 admission seekers participated in the preliminary tests against 875 seats in 11 departments under BSC Engineering and BRUP courses, said Monoz Kumar Mazumder, Public Relation Officer of KUET.
The final list of eligible admission seekers will be published after scrutiny on October 27, he said, adding that further entry test will be held from 9.30 am to 12 pm on November 6, 2015 at KUET campus.
The source said 120 students will be admitted to each of the four departments.
The departments are Computer Engineering (CE), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Mechanical Engineering (ME) and Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). Sixty students will be admitted to each of the six departments.
The departments are Electronics and Communication Engineering ECE), Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE), Leather Engineering (LE), Textile Engineering (TE), Building Engineering and Construction Management (BECM), and Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning (BURP). A total of 30 students will be admitted to the Bio-Medical Engineering (BME) while five are reserved seats. IU online application for entry tests ends today
KHUSTIA: The submission of online application for first year admission test of Islamic University (IU) for 2015-16 academic sessions ends today.
The admission tests will be held from November 15 to 19, admission committee sources said. The admission seekers have to submit the forms before 12am today.
Meanwhile, the online application for admission test began on September 13. A admission seekers can apply for 25 departments under 8 units. The details are available on IU website www.iu.ac.bd.
Certificate giving ceremony held at DU
The certificate giving ceremony of a five-day training programme on ‘Renewable Energy and its Application: Solar, Wind, Biomass’ was held at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University (DU) on Tuesday.
Institute of Energy (IE) of DU organised the programme in cooperation with Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority.
Dhaka University Treasurer Md Kamal Uddin distributed certificates among the
participants as the chief guest. Director of the IE of DU Saiful Huque presided over the function while Deputy Country Director of UNDP, Bangladesh Nick Bersford and Chairman of the SREDA Tapos Kumar Roy addressed it as special guests. Lecturer of IE of DU SM Nasif Shams conducted the programme.
Dr Md Kamal Uddin thanked the organiser for arranging the training programme on renewable energy. He hoped that the participants of the programme would play an effective role to develop renewable energy sector in Bangladesh. A total of 16 officials from SREDA participated in the training programme.
