CCC official suspended

A Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) official was suspended temporarily yesterday for his alleged negligence induty.The official --- Ellius Chowdhury, a Nazeer of National Identity Card Issue (Nezarat) section, was suspended for not providing NID cards to the recipients on time.

Confirming the suspension, Nazia Sharmin, executive magistrate and acting chief of Nezarat section said, “Ellius turned down the recipients to provide NID cards, concealing the cards in his office.
For this reason, he was suspended temporarily.”
Contacted, Ellius Chowdhury said, “I have been working at Nezarat section for the last three years. Some people asked for some old and damaged NID cards about which I had no information. Without serving any show-cause notice, I have been punished illegally and intentionally."
