Speaker off to China

Speaker Dr Shirin Shamrin Chaudhury, also the Chairperson of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Executive Committee, on Wednesday left here for China to attend a conference there, reports UNB.
Dr Shirin is leading a parliamentary team to join the Asian Political Parties’ Special Conference on the Silk Road to be held from October 14 to 16 in Beijing, said a Parliament Secretariat handout. The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) is arranging the three-day conference.
The Speaker is expected to return home on October 17.
