A four-day ‘Foodpro Bangladesh’ fair began at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) yesterday.
”It is undoubtedly an innovative venture and I appreciate the organisers for their arduous efforts for holding this event. I am confident that this show would be able to play a significant role in the process of ensuring food security through supplying safe and quality food items,” Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu said while inaugurating the exhibition..
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam was also present on the occasion. Bangladesh Agro Food Process Association is organising the fair.
As many as 230 stalls of 130 enterprises from India, Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan, China, Germany, Singapore, Japan, The Netherlands, Turkey, Malaysia and Indonesia, have been set up in the fairground. It will remain open from 10:00am to 7:00pm to all till October during the four days.
The organisers said the objective of this show is to introduce our local market and stakeholders with the international market.
This is a platform where we can create a bridge between local and international stakeholders so that they can use to share their advanced knowledge in order to develop this sector.
