‘Shibir men’ stab BCL activist

An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Modan Mohan College unit was stabbed allegedly by Islamic Chhtra Shibir yesterday. The injured was identified as Rocky Deb. He is also former Sylhet City Corporation’s ward-13 BCL unit general secretary.  The incident took place at around 11.30am in front of teachers’ common room of the college and he was admitted Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.  Hearing the news, activists of college unit BCL brought out a procession on the campus protesting the incident and given a 24-hour ultimatum to arrest of the Shibir men involved in the  incident.  Sylhet Kotwali Police station in-charge Md Selim Mia said, “Some Shibir men stabbed a BCL activist at Modan Mohan college but no case was filed in connection with the incident.
