A Dhaka court yesterday set today to submit probe report in the case lodged over murder of blogger Niladri Chattopadhyay Niloy. “Today was fixed for submitting the probe report. But the investigation agency Detective Branch (DB) of police failed to submit the report, making Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate court to reset the date,” a court official said.
Niloy was hacked to death by unidentified assailants in capital’s Goran area on August 7, 2015. A militant outfit claimed the responsibility of the murder on the same day.
Niloy’s widow Ashamoni filed a murder case with Khilgaon Police Station against four unidentified attackers. Law enforcing agencies have arrested a total of seven people, believed to be involved in the murder. Of the seven, five are still behind bars.
