Programmes on Independence Day in Rangpur

The district administration at a preparatory meeting here yesterday finalised programmes to celebrate the Independence and National Day- 2019 with huge enthusiasm and festivity in the city on March 26 next. Deputy Commissioner Enamul Habib presided over the meeting held at his conference room.

Freedom Fighters, leaders of Awami League (AL), other political parties, representatives of Rangpur City Corporation, heads of government departments, educational institutions and different organisations and law enforcement agencies took part.

Zila parisahd Chairman Advocate Chhafia Khanom, Secretary of Rangpur City Corporation Abu Saleh Md Musa Jongi, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Syed Enamul Kabir, Additional police Super Abu Maruf Hossain, former Commander of district unit Command of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangshad Mosaddek Hossain Bablu and President of district Awami League (AL) Mamtaz

Uddin Ahmed, among others, addressed. The celebration will begin through heralding 31 gun salutes at Police Lines ground and placing of wreaths at ‘Swadhinota Smritistambha Arjan’ and ‘Shaheed Muktijoddha Smritistambha’ (Monument of Martyred Freedom Fighters) at zero hours on the day.
