Bangladesh National Under-16 Women’s football team suffered a
3-0 defeat to China in their last match in the AFC Under-16 Championship qualifying Round-2 at Mandalar Thiri Stadium in Yangon yesterday.
Bangladesh, who have already been booked their place in the final round after winning their successive two matches including the crucial 1-0 victory over the hosts Myanmar followed by a convincing 10-0 triumph against Philippines.
However, it was predicted that for Bangladesh it would be more than tough to beat China, one of big powerhouses in women’s football in Asia and finally could not overcome the tough hurdle.
Bangladesh girls who were not behind in technically and tactically but were far behind in physical fitness and stamina than their China counterparts, as in the whole 90 minutes time it looked that they (Bangladesh) could not cope with the opponents’ pace.
According to a web-site channel, it looked Bangladesh conceded the goals due to defence lapse. Dai Xinayao opened the scoring on 28th minute for China when she just pushed the ball into near post without any trouble, as she
was left free in the danger area (1-0).
Bangladesh could have the equaliser on 32nd minute but none of the forwards could reach the ball after solo run Touhura’s beautiful cut back inside the area.
Bangladesh conceded two goals in a quick succession early in the second half when Shao Ziqin doubled the lead right inside first minute and made the tally 3-0 through Wang Xin Ling on 53rd minute.
