Suborna bestowed with this years award

Suborna Mustafa, a renowned actress and the recipient of this years Ekushey Padak, has been awarded Golam Mustafa Smiriti Sommonona 2019 (Golam Mustafa Memorial Award 2019) by Tarunyer Uchchhash, a recitation organisation in the port city Chattogram.
Suborna received the award at a function at the Chattogram Shilpakala Academy in Chattogram on Saturday.
Since March 2, 2017, remembering late famous elocutionist and actor Golam Mustafa on his birthday, Tarunyer Uchchhash has been honouring the artistes for their noteworthy contribution to the cultural arena.
This year, the award was given to Suborna Mustafa, the daughter of Golam Mustafa, and formal cultural affairs minister Asaduzzaman Noor.
DhakaLive has news that owing to some state work, Asaduzzaman Noor could not attend the award ceremony.
At the beginning of the award ceremony, the guests recalled the contribution of Golam Mustafa in the arena of elocution.
The award recipients were given an uttorio (celebratory scarf), a set of poetry books, memorial award and Tk. 10,000 each.
Accepting the award, Suborna Mustafa said, Its outstanding that such a programme takes place outside Dhaka in the memory of my father. There are a lot of emotions attached to this award for me. I would like to express my gratitude to Tarunyer Uchchhash and people associated with this award for honouring me this way. I wish them all the best.
Earlier in 2017 and 2018, Golam Mustafa Smiriti Sommonona was conferred on cultural personality-actor Syed Hasan Imam and elocutionist and actor Jayanto Chattopadhyay respectively.
