‘Conserve wildlife for maintaining ecosystem’

Environmentalists and experts at a post-rally discussion yesterday unequivocally called for proper conservation of wildlife for maintaining environmental balance and ecosystem.

They also stressed the need for more public awareness about importance of the wildlife. Existence of wildlife including marine resources is very important for protecting the biodiversity, they said.

Department of Wildlife and Nature Conservation, Department of Social Forestry and Deputy Commissioner Office jointly organised the rally and discussion in front of Shaheed AHM Quamaruzzaman Central Park and Zoo in the city to mark the World Wildlife Day-2019.

Some voluntary organizations, including Bangladesh Biodiversity Conservation Federation (BBCF), Bangladesh Livestock Society (BLS), Better Nature and Society and Save the Nature and Life supported the programme.
