Diarrhoea breaks out

Diarrhoea has broken out alarmingly in Jessore town. About 10 to 15 affected patients are being admitted to Jessore Medical Collage Hospital everyday. Most patients are children and elderly persons. According to hospital sources, about 200 diarrhoea patients were admitted in the hospital during the past one week and about 1,000 persons took treatment at outpatient ward of the hospital during the period. A total of 42 persons were admitted during Saturday and Sunday. Among them 13 were children. Some patients complained that they were neither getting sufficient treatment nor medicine from the hospital. Only oral saline is available in the hospital, which is being given to the patients in small quantity, it alleged.
