Capital punishment of killers demanded

Several hundred people and relatives formed a human chain at Fultola Bazaar area on Saturday, demanding arrest and capital punishment of killers of four Juba League leaders of a family. Juba League leaders Mojnu, Nahid, Bush and Ronju Mia were hacked to death by the local criminals over the past two years. The protesters handed over a memorandum to the prime minister through the deputy commissioner, Bogra, seeking capital punishment of the killers. Mamun-ur-Rashid, general secretary of Fultola Bazaar Committee, presided over the programme while president of the Bazzar commitee Nadim Pramanik spoke as chief guest. Juba League leader Jhantu, district AL president Sahadat Hossain Nannu, adviser of the bazaar committee Saheb Ali were among others present on the occasion. "We are seeking prime minister's intervention to bring the killers of our fathers to book, and ensure capital punishment for them," said a son of one of the deceased.
