One held with arm, ammo

Police arrested a youth along with firearm and ammunitions from Momin Road area under Kotowali police station in the city on early yesterday. The arrestee was identified as --- Choyon Acharjee, 25, son of Prashanta Acharjee, hailed from Boalkhali upazila in Chittagong district. Police said a group of 5-7 members of local drug peddler Abdul Mannan gang vandalised a flower shop and trigger bullets in Momin road area around 12:30 am. On information, police rushed to the spot, at around 1am and detained Choyon. After that, police recovered one foreign-made pistol, two-round of bullets and two empty cartridges raiding the shop. A case was lodged in this connection with Kotwali police station accusing Choyon and unknown some others, Jasim Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kotwali police station.
