Bangladesh women’s U-16 team will start their AFC U-16 Women’s Championship Round-2 campaign against Philippines today at Mandalathiri Stadium in Mandalay, Myanmar. The match will kick-off at 2.30pm.
The Red and Green team had a morning session training with the senior group at Myanmar’s Academy regional facility here in Mandalay yesterday. Later the U16 players enjoyed a light stretching session at the Fitness Suite of the hotel.
Thereafter all four teams in Group-B attended in a pre-tournament press conference. Coaches of China, Myanmar, Philippines and Bangladesh are excited and looking forward to their respective first games. The day’s second match will take place between China and Myanmar at 5.30pm.
Head coaches of all teams acknowledged each of the teams strengths and echoed a mutual professional respect.
Bangladesh coach Choton emphasised on his team’ attacking approach to dish out a batter performance. He reminded his players that they are facing strong opponents in the group and should not take them lightly.
“We have been working very hard since Round 1 of the competition in Dhaka. We will be ready to compete and expecting a better result.”
Following the official training session at the Match Stadium yesterday, the U16 girls are upbeat and positive.
Bangladesh team captain Maria Manda in a firm voice told the media that they have come to Myanmar to qualify for the final round at Thailand.
Bangladesh will meet Myanmar on March1 at 5.30pm and wrap up their group match with China on March 3 at 2.30pm.
