Two ‘JMB men’ arrested in C’nawabganj

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)arrested two alleged members of the banned Islamic militant outfit Jamaatul Mujahidin Bangladesh (JMB) from Ajhoir village under Nachole upazila in Chapainawabganj district at early hours yesterday.

The arrested persons were identified as Md. Bairul Islam, 34, son of Md.  Nazrul Islam and Md. Shofiqul Islam, 48, son of Md. Momtaj Hossain both of Furshedpur village under Fatepur union of Nachole upazila in Chapainawabganj district.

RAB said, acting on detective information, an operation team of RAB-5 from Chapainawabganj camp raided the area at around 1-30 am and arrested them as they were holding a secret meeting there.

RAB also recovered Islamic revolutionary books from their possession.
