Int�l food processing exhibition from Oct 14

A four-day international exhibition on food processing will be held from October 14 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital, reports BSS. Bangladesh Agro Processors’ Association (BAPA), Bangladesh Inspired-Project of European Union and Extreme Exhibition and Event Solution Ltd will organise the exposition titled “3rd FoodPro Bangladesh 2015”. “Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu will inaugurate the exhibition as the chief guest at 4.30 pm. State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam will be present as special guest,” BAPA General Secretary Raju Ahmed told journalists at a briefing at the National Press Club in the capital yesterday. BAPA General Secretary Raju Ahmed said they collect raw materials from remote areas of the country to process food and export processed foods to more than 140 countries. He added: “This exhibition (FoodPro) will showcase products with the aim of promoting and developing food processing sector and related trade by disseminating information and knowledge.” President of Bangladesh Rice Mills Owners’ Association Abu Yousuf Bachchu, exhibition organising committee convener DD Ghosal and European Union Representative Ali Sabet were present on the occasion. Besides “3rd FoodPro Bangladesh 2015”, two other expositions—“5th Agro Bangladesh Expo 2015” and “Rice & Graintech Expo 2015”—will be held concurrently at the same venue.
