The visiting Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) U-17 team scored 198-7 on the close of the first day of the second 3-day match against Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) U-17 at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothisthan (BKSP) Ground-4 yesterday.
Opting to bat, the Indian side made a good start after winning the toss and put on 54 by their opening stand. After the exit of opener Debojyoti Ghosh, who went for 24, Sayan Kumar Biswas shared 50-run with Ankit Chakraborty for the second wicket, which surpassed the 100-run mark.
But Biswas fell eight runs shy of half century before being unfortunate run out. He faced 159 balls to strike 42 that featured with five boundaries.
At this stage, the visitors witnessed a mini-collapse losing four wickets in the space of 28 runs. Ankit Chakraborty like Biswas missed fifty as he struck 40 off 136 with three fours so far. Wicketkeeper-batsman Sharnik Banerjee then hit 42-run with Kaushik Maity for the seventh wicket.
