An accused in a case filed under the woman and child repression act fled from Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital while being under treatment in police custody on Saturday night. Jail Source said, Samad Robbani, 25, accused in a woman and child torture case was admitted to ward no 4 of the hospital on Tuesday. The accused escaped through a ventilator in the hospital, said Sagir Mia, superintendent of Sylhet Central Jail.
After the incident, three policemen on duty at the hospital were temporary suspended, he added.
Earlier on Saturday, a murder case accused fled while under treatment in police custody at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Sources at the DMCH said Tajud Khan, 30, an accused in a murder case filed with Atpara police station in Netrakona district, had been admitted to ward no-102 of the hospital on October 8.
