Bangladesh Telecommunica-tion Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has issued a cautionary notice regarding import, sale and lease of unauthorised radio equipment in the country, reports BSS.
In the notice issued yesterday, BTRC directed importers and distributors to collect permission before sale and lease of any kind of radio equipment like mobile phone handset, SIM enable tablet PC, Walkie-talkie,
fixed wireless phone, modem, DTH receiver and antenna, satellite TV receiver and others.
The telecom regulator initiated the move as it found a group of importers, distributors and organisations are importing and selling radio equipment without any prior permission.
BTRC said if such kinds of activities continue it will take stern action against them.
