Golden Rice by Bangladeshi scientists

Sir,
Development of the World’s first Vitamin-A enriched ‘Golden Rice’ by the Bangladeshi agricultural scientists is a step forward towards accomplishing global food and nutritional security. Congratulations to the scientists of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) for evolving the genetically engineered GR-2 E BRRI dhan29, that is, the golden rice. The new rice variety is now awaiting confined field trial for its ultimate destination to the farmers’ field.
While sincerely wishing success of the field trial of Golden Rice, I would suggest BRRI to keep a program to examine/monitor the effects of this genetically engineered product on human health and environment.
