Speaker for law to check smoking

Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Speaker and Common-wealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Chairperson Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury yesterday called for proper implementation of laws to prevent smoking, reports BSS. She made the call at a discussion meeting marking World No Tobacco Day 2015 at Sufia Kamal auditorium of National Museum in the city. Anti-narcotic organization Manosh organized the discussion meeting with its president Prof Dr Arup Ratan Chowdhury in the chair.
Professor Emeritus Dr Anisuzzaman and Asha University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr Dalem Chandra Barman addressed the meeting, among others, said an official release. The speaker said the parliament has passed laws to control smoking and use of tobacco products.
