Hockey Dhaka United celebrated goal glut when they thrashed Mukta Bihanga 12-2 in the First Division Hockey League at Maulana Bhashani Hockey Stadium in the capital yesterday.
Vijender Singh with four and Sajib Hossain Shifat with three credited a hat-trick each for the winners. Syed Al Mamun Sajib Ahmed Topu fired two each and Arafat Hossain banged the other goal. Jamaluddin Shawon and Saiful Islam reduced one goal each for Hockey United.
PWD SC also snatched a convincing 8-3 win over Farashganj Sporting in another match. Alamgir and Mehedi netted two each, while Parimal, Faridul, Lavjeet Singha and Arafat Hossain added one goal each for PWD. Rabbi sounded the board twice for Farashganj, while Saiful Islam netted the other goal.

Keeping up the trend, Bangladesh yet again began their New Zealand tour with a crushing eight-wicket defeat to the hosts as they struggled to deal with the bounce and height, generated by the Kiwi pacers…
