Kayes sidelined for three weeks with groin injury

Top-order batsman Imrul Kayes ruled out of cricket for the next three weeks with his groin injury what he sustained during the match of the just-concluded T20 Cricket Tournament of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

Imrul, represented Comilla Victorians, who clinched BPL trophy for the second time after 2015, is likely to miss some initial games of the upcoming Dhaka Premier League (DPL).

The country’s prestigious and traditional cricket is scheduled by Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) to start on March 1.

He was asked to perform a scan and MRI of his injury by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief physician Dr Debashis Chowdhury after being seen his injury state.

The left-handed batsman came at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur to get to know the result of the report from Dr Chowdhury.

Before going out of the Home of Cricket,

Imrul said that he has to rest for the next three weeks for being tore a tissue of his groin.   

“I performed a scan and MRI two days back. Today I saw the report. A tissue of my groin has been tore. Doctor told me to need at least three weeks to be healed,” said Imrul Kayes quoting Dr Debashis

“But it might be needed four weeks. Doctor will see me after three weeks. If I feel well then I could play the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) from the initial stage. If not, in that case, I will miss few initial matches,” he said.

“There is no option but to take rest right now. The rehabilitation will be started after the rest,” he added.

Imrul received injury on his groin while fielding a ball on deep mid-wicket during the Qualifier-1 against Rangpur Riders. He felt pains at that time. After taking a pain-killer, he played BPL final that intensified his problem. If he would not play the match, it would be recuperated within one-two weeks.
