A Dhaka court yesterday extended time till March 20 to submit probe report in a graft case against BNP leader Mirza Abbas and his wife Afroza Abbas. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saiduzzaman Sharif set the date as Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) failed to submit the report yesterday.
ACC filed the case against the couple on January 7 last for amassing illegal wealth. According to the anti-graft body, they have amassed wealth of Taka 20.76 crore from illegal sources as the duo could not show any necessary documents in support of acquiring lots of wealth. The ACC said Mirza Abbas did not have any mentionable source of income prior to 1991.
