National science fest ends at JU

The two-day 3rd JUSC National Science Fest-2019 concluded on Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus yesterday. With the slogan, Think scientifically, expose your ability, Jahangirnagar University Science Club (JUSC), a science-based social organisation of the university, organised the festival on Zahir Raihan auditorium premises of the university.
JU Treasurer Prof Sheikh Md Monzurul Huq addressed prize giving session the chief guest while the president of JUSC Khondokar Oliullah Saad was in the chair.
Addressing the function, he said, Now the Jahangirnagar University is not only home of cultural and beautiful environment, it has also become a better place of practicing science. He also thanked the organisers to hold the festival. JUSC Chief Advisor Prof Md Khabir Uddin and Noted Mosquito Researcher Prof Kabirul Bashar of Zoology department were present as special guests. A total of 60 winners of different competitive events were awarded at a prize giving ceremony. A robotics workshop was held yesterday morning while the Vice-president of JUSC Tajim Md Niamatullah Akhund imparted it.
Besides, JUSC members conducted a career guideline programme for the school and college level students where over 1000 students of schools and college level took part.
Earlier, Professor Mohammad Kaykobad of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) inaugurated the two-day fair on the Zahir Raihan Auditorium premises on Friday.
JUSC President Khandakar Oaliullah said students of 10 universities, 30 colleges and 50 schools have taken part in the festival. The Independent was a media partner of the festival.
