Eggs for good health

Sir,
I must have at least one egg every day.  Eggs are great source of high-quality protein. It is inexpensive and very easy to cook. The egg is also a great source of iron, vitamin D, B6, B12, and minerals etc. It is not only a wholesome food but also inexpensive and easily cooked. Often we are in a rush during the morning time and during this time an egg can help meet our need.  We can eat eggs in many ways. Many people have a misconception about egg and they avoid it.
Eggs help us eat fewer calories, thus going a long way maintaining our weight and health. We must encourage our children to eat eggs regularly as it will help them enrich their diet and make them
stronger.

Health sector needs attention

Sir,
A World Bank report says that about 60 per cent Bangladeshis are deprived of basic health care. It also pointed out that malnutrition and death rate are very high among Bangladeshi women during child birth.  Two thirds of new born babies are born underweight.
After forty five years of independence, the health sector of our country is less improved than it should have been. Whenever a patient goes to a doctor for treatment, the first thing he or she is given is a list of pathological tests which are to be done from a designated diagnostic centre.
It is a business from which the doctors receive a hefty commission. Quite often we hear about fake doctors doing a roaring practice in a locality. I remember, once a renowned hospital appointed a doctor who had a fake degree. The doctor continued his practice for a long time and fooled hundreds of patients.  We also see that imposters are claiming to cure every incurable disease of the world and deceive common people in the name of treatment. I think it is high time the government took strong action to stop all these criminal activities and brought discipline in the health sector so that people of the country get some respite from undue harassment and endless sufferings.
